Purchase Agreement
These guidelines exist as an agreement that must be confirmed before the purchase of a commission.
- Payment is expected up front. For hourly work, this includes paying X amount of hours up front. If the work is completed before the hours are up, payment will be partially refunded.
- Payment is final, and refunds are not available. Don't order if you aren't prepared to pay.
- Changes are at my discretion. Changes to the drawing itself must be made during the sketch phase. After that, only color or effect adjustments can be made.
- I reserve the right to cancel a commission at any time during the process if I feel that the work cannot be completed to the satisfaction of the buyer. This is especially true if requesting numerous revisions, etc. If a commission is cancelled, you will no longer have the right to use any work completed thus far.
- Deadlines must be discussed prior to the commission being accepted. I reserve the right to refuse a deadline (without compensation) if it is issued after the commission has already been accepted. I reserve the right to reject a commission if the deadline is too short. If you need to place a rush order, an additional fee of up to twice the original price may apply, depending on complexity of the task and time allowed. To avoid these fees, please arrange the deadline well in advance.
- All commission work is strictly for non-profit use. A commission cannot be used for the buyer's personal gain in any capacity. This includes use on sites that gain revenue through indirect purchase or 'donations', such as virtual games. It also includes both real life and virtual currencies, as well as items with tangible value, such as gift cards or coupon codes. If you want to use these items on a for-profit platform, you must make this clear so that the price can be negotiated. I may even make exceptions depending on the circumstances.
- As per the rule above, the artwork that you purchase is prohibited for use in NFTs, blockchains, and other non-tangible assets.
- Buyers are permitted to upload their commissioned works anywhere for personal, non-profit use. They're also allowed to order physical items for themselves that contain the images. They are not permitted to print off multiple copies with intent to distribute or sell. This is for if someone wants, say, a mouse pad of their character.
- I will retain copyright to any piece I create, and can use and upload the commissioned work. I'll usually upload them to my personal galleries or social media, but may refrain out of courtesy if requested. Your commissioned pieces won't be resold or printed on products.
- My work is not to be used as propaganda, or for malicious or discriminatory purposes. If I feel that you're using the work for malicious content, you'll be barred from ordering commissions in the future.
